NEVER LIGHT CANDLE in AIR-COND ROOM

For those who sleep in the air-cond room ………..

Please read the mail below and be careful.

Heard of a bad news regarding Charleine,

She passed away last weekend due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

It happened when she lighted an aromatheraputic candle for the night in a room with air-conditioning on and all windows closed.

Due to lack of oxygen in the room, the burning of the candle cannot fully oxidized & thus forming dangerous carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide will prevent oxygen exchange in the lungs, resulting the person dozing off to state of
unconsciousness & eventually death in less than 1 hour, depending on the room size.

I am sending this e-mail out to all of you so that you will be aware of such danger when lighting aromatheraputic candles in any unventilated rooms.

Quote of the Day

“The Trouble with a Rat Race is that even if you Win you are still a Rat.

So always Run with Lions, no matter even if you are Defeated, you are Still a Lion”

Have a nice day

Love

One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along the route. No problems for the first few stops – a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.

At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, “Big John doesn’t pay!” and sat down at the back.

Did I mention that the driver was five feet three, thin, and basically meek? Well, he was. Naturally, he didn’t argue with Big John, but he wasn’t happy about it. The next day the same thing happened, Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the next…..

This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff.

By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong; what’s more, he felt really good about himself. So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said, “Big John doesn’t pay!”

The driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, “And why not?”

With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, “Big John has a bus pass!”

Management Lesson: “Be sure that there is a problem in the first place, before working hard to solve one!”

Similar stories can be found in the family life as well: Some times we just assume that there is a problem and start worrying about it! In fact, these unnecessary worrying sometimes leads to a problem! Before worrying, make an effort to analyze the situation and understand the problem, if at all there is one!

Once the true nature of the problem is identified, then work on a solution, rather than just wasting your entire energy just thinking about of the problems only. Once you stop worrying about the problem, and divert the energy to think of a  solution, the issue will get resolved very quickly!

Kick Depression

Kick Depression:

Great ideas, Rachel. I’d add another one or two- mindfulness meditation and breathwork. Learning to be in the moment abd synchronizing breath and heartbeat help with depression and anxiety too.
Depression- something terrible happened.
Anxiety- something terrible is going to happen.

Mindfulness- savor this moment right now.

Breathwork- synchronized heart and breath rhythm feels GOOD!

PS- my loved ones are instructed– if you think I might be dead, play salsa to make sure. If I don’t move, I’m dead. Too bad Edgar Allan Poe didn’t know about this.;)

Think Positive!!

Think Positive!!

This is nice – finding positive out of every negative – which we don’t
always manage to do.

I am thankful…

1. For the husband who snores all night, because he is at home asleep
with me and not with someone else.

2. For my teenage daughter who is complaining about doing dishes,
because that means she is at home & not on the streets.

3. For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.

4. For the mess to clean after a party because it means that I have
been surrounded by friends.

5. For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have
enough to eat.

6. For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the
sunshine.

7. For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning
because it means I have a home.

8. For all the complaining I hear about the government because it
means that we have freedom of speech.

9. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.

10. For the noise I have to bear from my neighbours because it means
that I can hear.
11. For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have
clothes to wear.

12. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it
means I have been capable of working hard.

13. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it
means that I am still alive.
AND FINALLY …….. for received e-mails because it means I have friends who are thinking of me, at least.

Very Nice Story

A Smile

A Smile
She smiled at a sorrowful stranger…
The smile seemed to make him feel better…
He remembered past kindnesses of a friend
And wrote him a thank you letter…
The friend was so pleased with the thank you
That he left a large tip after lunch…
The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip,
Bet the whole thing on a hunch….
The next day she picked up her winnings,
And gave part to a man on the street…
The man on the street was grateful;
For two days he’d had nothing to eat…
After he finished his dinner,
He left for his small dingy room…
He didn’t know at that moment
That he might be facing his doom…
On the way he picked up a shivering puppy
And took him home to get warm…
The puppy was very grateful
To be in out of the storm…
That night the house caught on fire…
The puppy barked the alarm…
He barked till he woke the whole household
And saved everybody from harm…
One of the boys that he rescued
Grew up to be President…
All this because of a simple smile
That hadn’t cost a cent…

Bad Breath Problem

You don’t mind bad breath in animals but it’s a different story for people. Bad breath may affect how you feel about yourself and how others feel about you.

Common Causes of Halitosis (Bad Breath)

1. Bacteria: Bacteria lurk between your teeth and multiply inside your mouth. When they stagnate, they leave off bad odors and toxins causing bad breath.

2. The deep holes in your tonsils: Wide and pitted tonsils collect cheese-like smelly substance in the holes which may cause bad breath.

3. Pungent foods: Some foods such as garlic, onion and fish can cause bad breath.

4. Bad habits: Smoking or chewing tobacco can leave a strong nasty smell in your mouth cavity.

5. Troubled stomach: Sometimes problems such as ulcer or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) can lead to bad breath when you burp.

To check if you have bad breath, just stick a clean finger inside your mouth and try to scrape some saliva [mixture of water, protein, and salts that makes food easy to swallow; begins digestion] off from the back of your tongue. Now put it on your hand and smell your hand after some time. How does it smell? You have got your answer.

If this little diagnostic test has let you down, just follow the tips below to get that fresh breath back:

1. Brush and floss: Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. And don’t forget the tongue. Bad breath has been reduced by 70 percent by brushing the tongue, especially the back of the tongue. Brushing removes the smelly bacteria lurking in the mouth that cause bad breath. Flossing is must, for it removes the hidden food particles and the plaque.

2. Gargle everyday: Gargling with peroxide will surely keep bad breath at bay. The bacteria that cause bad breath get killed by the oxygen in the hydrogen peroxide. You can also use an antimicrobial mouthwash for excess plaque.

3. Drink lots of water: A dry mouth with reduced saliva is another reason for bad breath. So drink enough liquids and keep your mouth moist to prevent bad breath.

4. No upset stomachs: An upset stomach can lead to bad breath. Eating lots of antacids may ease an acidic stomach, but can cause halitosis [an oral health condition characterized by consistently odorous breath] when you burp. Try lactase [enzyme in the small intestine needed to digest milk sugar (lactose)] tablets and eat healthy.

5. Eat plenty of yogurt: Yogurt promotes a healthier mouth and encourages the growth of the good bacteria in your gut. One can also eat parsley or celery between meals for fresh breath.

6. Chew gum: Chewing gum with xylitol will keep your breath fresh besides salivating your mouth. Saliva helps in washing away the bad bacteria in your mouth.

7. Visit your dentist: Have an appointment with your dentist at least once in 6 months. Get your teeth checked and an oral exam done. Gum disease
and open cavities are one of the main causes of bad breath.

If bad breath persists even after taking all the precautions, it’s time to see a doctor. There may be a sign of a more serious problem or an infection like diabetes, liver or kidney disease.
